The Pasig River was once declared biologically dead during the early '90; it was through a century of unregulated urbanization and industrialization that the great Pasig River met its demise.
This slide show of the Pasig River System is as it is today; clean, alive and developing into a showcase of an almost miraculous river system revitalization. People now fish along its banks catching fish species such as Tilapia and Hito.
It is not uncommon to see people exercising and playing along the banks of the river. The once foul stench that reeked out of the water is now gone, replaced by a variety of migratory birds that hunt food on the water's surface.
With the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission developing and rehabilitating the Pasig River System, a bountiful future is just within our reach.
