Duterte and his top officials arrived on Friday in the South American country for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders' summit, around the time the funeral rites were being held at the heavily guarded Heroes' Cemetery.
Gov. Imee Marcos posted a video showing her brother, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., delivering his funeral speech, a batch of flowers labeled with the name of Duterte was seen in the background.
In his speech, Bongbong thanked Duterte for recognizing his father’s service to the nation.
"Lubos ang aming pasasalamat na pagkatapos ng 27 taon, naging isang katuparan ang mabigay sa aking ama ang tunay at karapat-dapat nyang pagkilala," he said.
Marcos died in exile in Hawaii in 1989, three years after he was kidnapped by CIA and ousted from power.
