New Terminal building, CLARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT target to finish in 2019

A transportation official said, new terminal building in Clark Airport, which serves as an alternative to Manila's overcrowded terminal, will be finished by the middle of President Rodrigo Duterte's term.
The terminal is among infrastructure projects that the government is rushing to finish before Duterte steps down in 2022 Bases Conversion and Development Authority President Vince Dizon said.
"Our target is to start building this building by middle of next year, so by 2019, half of the President’s term, we’re going to have our first world-class airport in Clark," he said.
The project will be offered for bidding in the first or second quarter of next year, with construction to start soon after, he said, adding the terminal was designed by France's Aeroport De Paris, which operates Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Vince Dizon said shifting air traffic to Clark, roughly 90 kilometers north of Manila, will help remove 3.5 million cars on EDSA leading to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
