Marcos only living sibling describe late Nation Builder as caring and loving brother

Fortuna Marcos-Barba, Marcos' youngest sibling, said she is glad her brother will be finally buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
"Well, I would say you deserve it, I am glad that they are finally making up their their minds to give what is supposed to be given to you," she told in an interview, saying her brother was a soldier and a president.
"Rest in peace, my brother. I am sure you must be,"she added.
Fortuna, now 85, said her brother is probably much happier now that one of his wishes, as indicated in his last will and testament, has finally been granted.
In his will, Marcos said he wanted his remains “buried according to the rites established by law and with dignity suitable to my position and other personal circumstances."
Fortuna described the late nation builder as a caring and loving brother.
She was the youngest child of lawyer Mariano Marcos and teacher Josefa Edralin-Marcos while Ferdinand was the oldest, followed by Dr. Pacifico Marcos and former Ilocos Norte Governor Elizabeth Marcos-Keon.
They were very nice to me because I was the youngest. Intindihin mo iyung maliit at bulilit na iyan, parang ganun," she said.
So when asked about her brother’s critics, she said she is sometimes hurt. “It always happens. There is always be mga kalaban hindi mo maaalis iyun."
Fortuna said she hopes Filipinos would just "unite."
We should unite, so that we have a better Philippines, so we have better land for the Filipinos," she said.
Fortuna Marcos-Barba is currently residing in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte with her son Vice Governor Angelo Marcos-Barba.
