This is the birthday wish of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, who celebrated his 70th birthday on Sunday.
"A drug-free, crime-free and corruption-free Philippines and Department of Justice (DoJ)."
Aguirre said he no longer wished anything for himself since he already received all the blessings he could possibly hope for.
"God has been good to me. He has blessed me with all that I could ask for, most importantly, the love of my family. As such, my foremost birthday wish now is to fulfill the mandate given by President Rodrigo Duterte to me when he appointed me to head the Department of Justice," he said.
Aguirre pointed out that drugs, crimes, and corruption are just some of the major challenges that the country is facing, and "there is so much to be done by way of achieving these lofty objectives."
The administration of President Duterte has repeatedly assured the public that theirs will be a "clean government." Duterte has also made his war on drugs the centerpiece of his administration.
"We are in the process of cleaning house at the DoJ, so to speak. I believe that we are on the right track and I thank the cooperative officials and employees of the DoJ Family for helping me in these efforts," he said.
