Duterte was greeted in Beijing Capital International Airport by Chinese officials and Chinese Ambassador Zhao Juanhua. Upon the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Rodrigo Duterte is in China for an official state visit from October 18 to 21.
The two state leaders are set to hold talks and exchange views on improving and developing bilateral relations amid the territorial dispute over the South China Sea.President Duterte is also set to meet with Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman Zhang Dejiang on separate occasions. A car was also prepared by Chinese Government to be use by President Duterte for his visit in China.
According to some sources, Duterte is open to joint exploration for oin in the West Philippine Sea with China. But the camp of the President is not yet confirming if this is true.
President Duterte would meet hundreds of Chinese Officials and Businessmen to boost the relations of China and Philippines, it also expected that this visit would boost the economy of the Philippines.
