Lacson: Obvious na! destabilization itong effort na 'to with Lascañas

Sen. Panfilo Lacson said on Sunday, there is a "clear" effort to destabilize the Duterte administration with the turn-around made by retired policeman Arturo Lascañas.

Lacson, chairman of the Senate committee on public order, said this was "obvious" in how Lascañas and his "handlers" have been making sure the allegations of President Rodrigo Duterte's involvement in the infamous Davao Death Squad (DDS) would be heard by a wider audience.

"They're doing the rounds. Napaka-obvious... Anong purpose? Bakit palipat-lipat siya sa media, doing interviews? May live, may taped as live," he told radio dzBB. "Malinaw na talagang ginawa ito para ma-destabilize 'yung panguluhan. Inuugoy, eh. Parang niyuyugyog."

"Obvious na 'yung audience ay ang Filipino people, if not the international community, 'yung mga international bodies like human rights groups. 'Yun ang ino-audience nila. Malinaw 'yon, maski itanggi nila, 'di naman tayo pinanganak kahapon para 'di mabasa. Malinaw na may kasamang destabilization itong effort na 'to with Lascañas," he added.

The senator also noted how Lascañas had lost credibility because he had lied, saying the new testimony would have been powerful if it was revealed in the first hearing.
