House is considering three legal actions versus Bilibid Queen De Lima

On Monday, House Majority Floor Leader Rodolfo Fariñas said the House could file a criminal complaint against De Lima for contempt before a regional trial court, file an administrative suit before the Supreme Court, and file a case before the Senate Committee on Ethics.

The three legal options can be pursued by the chamber all at the same time, Fariñas said.
Asked if the administrative case before the SC was tantamount to a disbarment suit, the House leader said: “Bahala na ang SC sa penalty. Pero in layman’s terms, parang disbarment case.”

Fariñas said the House was  mulling a complaint "for disorderly behavior" against De Lima before the Senate ethics panel.

The House justice committee has ordered De Lima to explain why she should not be held in contempt for supposed obstruction of justice after it was found that she advised Dayan to skip the legislative inquiry on the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid prison.
The panel had found Dayan in contempt before his arrest last week led to his appearance before the committee.

Rodolfo Fariñas said the show cause order would be issued to De Lima directly, though he did not say when the chamber will come out with the document.
