Identified in drug matrix: 18 policemen, one PDEA agent from Franz Sabalones

Internal Affairs Service (IAS) Deputy Inspector General, P/CSupt. Leo Angelo Leuterio revealed that aside from getting the names of the 83 policemen from those who already surrendered, they have identified additional 18 policemen from the drug matrix of drug lord Franz Sabalones.
The PNP-IAS is continuously investigating the extent of their involvement in illegal drug transactions.
Based on the matrix provided by Sabalones to UNTV, he used to give up to P507,000 as payola or protection money to policemen from the ranks of police officer 1 to police senior superintendent.
Sabalones alleged that the implicated policemen regularly receive from P1,000 to P150,000 weekly, usually delivered by either his cook, his colleagues at the gym or in billiards, or sometimes by his neighbors.
Leuterio warns these policemen that they will face appropriate charges once their participation in illegal drug trade is proven.
“We will file cases against this people or even we will recommend that orders will be issued putting them under the Police Holding and Admin Unit and removing them in their places of assignment,” he said.
Meanwhile, CIDG Director P/CSupt. Roel Obusan says they have already sent notices to the policemen mentioned in the matrix so they could send their respective affidavits in the coming days.
