The Philippines' richest man Henry Sy Sr., founder of SM Group, has passed away on Saturday morning. He was 94.
This was confirmed by sources close to the Sy family and by officials of BDO and SM.
“With deep sadness, I would like to inform the group that our beloved Chairman Tatang, Mr. Henry Sy Sr, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning. Please pray for the eternal repose of his soul," the statement said, according to a report by ABS-CBN News.
"It is with sadness to announce my father, Henry Sy Sr., passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning," his son Hans Sy also said, according to Townv& Country Philippines.
